I originally started this blog to cover issues beyond the scope of Linux/Unix-related technology, which I cover (or try to when I have time) on other blogs. What does this one cover? Politics. Economics. Finance. Music. Books. Food. Who knows.
What am I really like? I’m a dissenting adult. Call me an equal opportunity hater (but in fairness I don’t hate very many people). I distrust the Religious Right and I equally distrust the far Left. Both groups are anti-liberty and seek to use the force of the state to coerce behavior and infringe on the freedoms of others. Both also use specious “greater good” utilitarian arguments to justify their respective forms of authoritarianism. One wants to control what I believe and do, the other wants to rob me to pay off their political base.
I have a strong anarchist streak and believe in free and open markets. Government interference tends to be the primary cause of economic problems, and more interference is not the solution to the problems.
When I’m not in front of a computer, I enjoy time with my family, reading, cooking, running, cycling, and sailing. Even though I’m very opinionated, I enjoy spending time with my friends even though few of them have the sense to agree with me about much.
